Ruth is the current chair of HCT 2018. Originally a citizen of Glasgow, she came to Hawkhurst via London about 20 years ago. She has worked as a business librarian in Tunbridge Wells, and in the public libraries of Cranbrook and Hawkhurst. She finds Hawkhurst a great place to live in: it has many amenities but is still a village, a place where one can meet people and always see a friendly face. Ruth enjoys getting out and about into the beautiful countryside and being involved in the local U3A group, where she has discovered the delights of family history research. Ruth is passionate about the need for a really good Community Centre in Hawkhurst, a place worthy of our lively village.
